Dear <Personalised>

Sydney’s inner city is the acknowledged urban capital of Aboriginal Australia.

With its high indigenous population comes a correspondingly high level of disadvantage and inequity: poverty, violence, ill health, substance abuse and family breakdown are all commonplace – in suburbs that are a literal stone’s throw from Australia’s most privileged post codes.

At the same time, this vibrant, rapidly growing area represents a real hub of hope and leadership for all Aboriginal Australians.

Recognising this potential, and the need to redress these stark inequities, the Redfern Foundation has been helping local, grass roots Aboriginal organisations develop the practical skills and self reliance they need to build strong communities from within.

The inequities experienced by Aboriginal Australians are a source of frustration and shame for many, yet we also struggle to know what we can do to help.

Through the Redfern Foundation, you can now do something.

You can be involved in helping Aboriginal people take control of their own lives where it counts: at the basic family level and through access to training, education, the development of positive role models and other vital supports that make a real difference to real lives.

Please, visit our new website, which tells you who we are, what we do, who we support and, most of all, how you can help.

Have a look at and don’t miss out on ‘Seeding hope’, which tells the story of the Mudgin-Gal Aboriginal Corporation. This is just a taste of the many of the successes on record – and what can continue to be achieved in the future with your help.

So visit our new site today and pass this email on to anyone else you think is committed to joining us in a truly effective reconciliation effort.

Thanks

Susie
